Moripo Park Dark Sky Site

Our developing dark sky site at Moripo Park, Hyndmans Creek, is already a place where the keenest astrophotographers get the opportunity to hone their astrophotography skills. Volunteers have been labouring hard to create the site, restore the old dome and make the site more accessible for more people to enjoy.

Funding of about $35,000 is needed to make the site more accessible. Increased accessibility will enable more people and school groups to enjoy the site and learn about deep sky objects, enjoy our galaxy the Milky Way and enjoy each other’s company in the peace and quiet of the countryside.

New Exhibits

PMAA aims to refresh the exhibits in the Exhibition area every 4 months to ensure that visitors are able to enjoy hands-on science. Regional centres like Port Macquarie lack the resources to set up permanent and changing science exhibitions. With your help (and our hard work), PMAA will achieve these outcomes.
